New packaging for size and care labels

Big changes are happening in the ShuShuStyle world... We recently designed new packaging for our size and care labels.

We are thrilled with the design.. and busy sending packages of size and care labels to Amazon's shipping center. Most of our size and care tags will be available to customers through the Amazon site with free (or nearly free) with Amazon's Prime or Super Saver shipping rates.

New stock care and size tags are on their way. We are having care/content tags that say "Made in Australia" and "Made in Canada" and "Made in the UK" to support our international customers.

Inexpensive Wall Coverings

With some of the great prints that came in recently, I was inspired to do something different. I picked up some inexpensive canvases at Michael's and covered them with fabric. I'm loving my new inexpensive wall coverings, and I can change the look easily as the seasons (or my mood) changes. If you can wrap a gift, you can cover a canvas. You need a heavy duty stapler. Staple one side, pull taught on the opposite side and staple.

Fold the ends in and staple tight and trim... it really is as easy as that!

Petticoats... double layered pettis!

Been busy with orders for petticoats (or sometimes called: petti skirts). I love making them! People are wanting them for Halloween costuming or just to give a full skirt more chic look.

I'm making them for children from sizes 2T to size 8.

Orders should be busy as the holiday season approaching, so if you want your pettiskirt for your little one's special event, please contact me soon.

Since it is basicly a very full half slip, I use Robert Kaufman Duet Lining material. It is very soft and light and comfortable to wear year round.

We have lots of colors to choose from: Aqualine, Rose Pink, Red, White, Off-White, Ivory, Black and Fuschia.

Customers have been asking for fat quarters for a while now... so we are excited to start listing fat quarters on eBay!

Here is a translation for non-quilters out there.. a "fat quarter" is a quarter of a yard cut halfway through the cross-grain and the grain line... for a 22 inch by 18 inch retangle.

We are starting all fat quarter listings (or "FQ") auctions for an intial bid of $1.99. And for those who prefer to purchase buy-it-now, only $2.50 per FQ.

Not a quliter, but love to applique? You can use the better fabrics for your projects by purchasing fat quarters.

Free Size and Care tags

I'm thinking about giving free samples to local fabric shops, with my business card inside the package. I know there are a lot of ladies who would like a free sample of care and or size tags to go with thier homemade items.... I need to start working on the packaging and see how it goes!

Love European inspired patterns? I know I do.

I've been sewing forever and the big challenge is to adjust american patterns. I'm not sure how they grade the patterns, but I don't think each size is tested on a real person, especially for childrens wear. Unless you have the right sized dress form, or a kid that is willing to be fitted, sizing can be a nightmare.

Farbenmix patterns are one of my favorites. I think they tested each size on a real kid because I am consistantly impressed with the finished results. Each size fits well. The only thing I notice is that the dress straps are longer than what I like, so it is just a quick adjustment. I'm offering them in my eBay store and website. You can get better images of the patterns at the eBay store, but better prices on the website.

Around five-years ago, when I started my children's boutique business, I wanted my garments to look better than professional. I used better fabrics and better sewing techniques, but I wanted more than that. I wanted a good quality size and care tag. At that time, no one in eBay boutique used them, and I wanted my garments to stand out.

I used size and care tags in my products, and sold my excess tags.

I carry sizes Preemie to size 20.
